Camp Chai is the newest Jewish boys day camp in Chicago that started Summer of 2023.
We started this camp for the purpose of providing every camper with the greatest camp experience. Camp Chai for boys will be located at Quad Sports on Oakton and Camp Chai for Girls will be located at Kehilat Chovevei Tzion on Church in Skokie. Camp Chai is one big family and gives each camper the chance to build amazing relationships with their counselors, as well as great bonding experiences with every camper through great trips, swimming, art, STEM, sports, special group activities, weekly newsletters, and a yearbook so every camper will remember their summers at Camp Chai. We look forward to seeing you next Summer!
MEET THE DIRECTOR
Hi! My name is Sammy Schwartz. Since I was 6 years old, it has been a dream of mine to run a camp, which is why I am so excited to be the Director of Camp Chai. After two years of learning at Yeshivat Torat Shraga in Israel, I am currently at Yeshiva University studying Psychology. Over the past six summers, I have worked as a counselor and Unit Head at the Bernard Horwich JCC, Yeshivas HaKayitz, and Moshava Ba'ir. I have also ran many "back-yard" camps every summer before and after regular camp sessions. Through those summers, I developed strong and meaningful connections with campers and their families, which I hold dearly to this day. My top priorities as a counselor and leader have always been to make sure kids have the best time, while teaching the value of Torah, sportsmanship, and friendship. These are my top priorities of Camp Chai and why I am super excited for day one and seeing your boys with us this summer!
